My ipod fell in a toilet?

Question

My ipod fell in a toilet?
at my girlfriends house, and I got it out as soon as possible, and it worked fine for a while... I even listened to it in the car on the drive home minute drive but when I got home, and I tried to cut it off, it wouldnt. I tried for ten minutes.... so I figured Id just let it die, and it would work later...

Answer

Wow, what a bunch of mean jerks having a yuck at your expense. brbrYes, there are things you can try to fix it....brbrFirst, no matter how your iPod became wet, there are some things that you can do to minimize the damage. The first is to turn the iPod off if it happens to be turned on. For most electronic devices, it is when electricity flows through wet components that damage occurs. The good news about most iPods is that they are ruggedly built, and there is very little space for water to collect. If you spilt some coffee or water on your iPod, shut it off and wipe it quickly before the liquid has a chance to penetrate the device.brbrNow that your iPod has been turned off, the immediate danger is over. You can now start the drying process. Generally speaking, you should allow the device to dry for at least hours. However, if the device got wet in the rain for a short time, a couple of hours should do the trick. For devices that became absolutely soaked submerged in a pool or deposited in your washing machine you should first wait a day before turning on the unit. If the unit does not work or works partially, there are three options to get it working again. They include the followingbrbrExchange it or have it repaired by Apple.brTry to repair it on your own. brSend it to a specialist who fixes iPods damaged by water. brExchange It or Have It Repaired by ApplebrbrMore info at the links...Rice and a blow dryer are life savers....!!!!

My husbands phone has some water damage. Can he get a better phone?

Question

My husbands phone has some water damage. Can he get a better phone?
My husbands cell phone was dropped in some water and it no longer works. He has insurance that covers water damage. I was wondering though if they will allow him to exchange the phone for a better phone and allow him to pay the difference on a better phone? Or will they just give him another phone just like the one he has. We have phones through alltel.

Answer

That depends upon the sales person , but most likely they will be happy to sell him a new upgraded phonebrI had Alltel and they dont like to do water damage insurance

My cellphone got wet????

Question

My cellphone got wet????
i was in a hurry to help my dad set up the basketball hoop in our backyard so i put my phone on top of some file cabinets that we have outside... since the cabinet was white i didnt see the little puddle of water on the caved in top of the cabinet.... i put my phone on there for about hours and didnt notice the water until i came to get it.... i tried to turn it on but it didnt work.... the whole backside of my phone was wet.... i took out the battery and the dot on the battery is red and the dot inside the phone was red also......

Answer

Nothing dangerous should happen, but its very possible that it will not work again let it dry out and then see what happens. Ive gotten my phone wet before and it took about days for it to recover so even if it does not work at first it may still work good luck I hate being without a cell phone

My cell phone got wet..any tips?

Question

My cell phone got wet..any tips?
I went hiking today, and it slipped out of my hand into a calm river. I know stupid me, and if youre gonna point that out, at least have a good tip too.

Answer

Chances are that no water got to the circuitry. If I were in your shoes I would pull it apart as much as possible e.g. take off cover, remove battery, take out sim, etc etc and then check any potential entry points to the circuitry for moisture.brbrThere is also the possibility that the circuitry has been coated with an epoxy or resin to make it water resistant but you should check it out and make sure all moisture is gone just in case there is a point at which a short circuit could happen.brbrI think the bag of rice thing is a good idea

My cell phone dropped in a cup of water!?

Question

My cell phone dropped in a cup of water!?
Its a nokia IThe one thats a camera.......Well it fell in a cup of water and now when you out in the battery all it does is vibrate. Any suggestions on what to do? I already dried it with a blowdryer.

Answer

oooppsss.brbrThat happened to me , but the only difference is that I put it in the Washing Machine and Thru the Dryer!!! haha it was a cute nokia phone month old....brbrTry opening it.,... let it dry.. a few days... if it dropped in clear water you have a of survival.. if it was coke , lemonade or something else.. chances are the phone is dead...cause some of this things will dry and damaged the insides of the phone... so try opening it and let it dry for some days,.... and if after putting it back together dosnt work youll just have to buy a new one....brbr If it dosnt work.. dont try taking it back to the store, and say that it just didnt work all of the sudden.. they know... now a days .. cell phone manufacturers put a liquid sensitive sticker on the back of the phone , in the battery compartment, to start off, the sticker is white... but when liquids touch that little round sticker it will turn pink that will cut your lie if you try to get it fixed by the store!!!! so if it dosnt work... look for a used phone on ebay..

My boyfriends MP fell down into water. Now it doesnt turn on. Its warranty expired. What can he do?

Question

My boyfriends MP fell down into water. Now it doesnt turn on. Its warranty expired. What can he do?
Although it doesnt turn on, it is recognized by the computer when connected with the wire. What can I do? Theres no way of fixing it in my hometown outside the United States.

Answer

First, remove the battery. Then soak it in the purest vodka you can find. The vodka will remove the water without damaging the device. If that doesnt work, put it in the oven on LOW!!!! for a while with the battery out. This should fix it.
